Image Intensifier Tube is the core component of night vision equipment. It is mainly used to enhance the optical image under weak light into a bright image visible to the naked eye. Its working principle and technical characteristics are as follows:

It collects ambient light (including starlight, moonlight, infrared radiation, etc.) in low-light environments (such as darkness and dim light), amplifies the light signal through electron multiplication technology, and finally converts it into a clear and visible image. It is widely used in night vision goggles, sights, monitoring equipment, etc.

First, weak photons (natural or infrared light) are captured by the lens and strike the photocathode (like GaAs) at the front of the intensifier, releasing photoelectrons.  Next, these electrons are dramatically amplified within the microchannel plate (MCP).  Each electron triggers a cascade, multiplying the signal by thousands.  Lastly, this amplified electron stream hits the phosphor screen, producing a visible image displayed through the eyepiece or output.

Gen2+:

The image intensifier Gen3 is a vacuum device that is able to convert the faint image received into an image visible to human eyes. The image intensitier consists of an image intensifier Gen3 tube and a high voltage power supply connected according to the regulations, and is packaged in the same housing.
